Arizona Women in Higher Education (AWHE)  is a part of a system of volunteer state networks that started in 1977 under the American Council on Education with funding from the Carnegie Corporation. The purpose of the Networks is to provide professional development to women to prepare for more advanced administrative and leadership positions. AWHE is one of forty-seven networks across the country serving over 10,000 women each year. As a state network, AWHE conducts a yearly conference, facilitates a mentoring program, and hosts other virtual events to promote professional development and networking throughout the year.

AWHE recently expanded our involvement opportunities by adding both free and paid membership options for women across the state. We continued this expansion by providing opportunities for institutions to be involved as chapters in 2022-2023. That year, institutions could apply to join as an official AWHE chapter. For the inaugural year, we offered this opportunity to five institutions. In 2022-2023, we accepted two inaugural chapters, who will be recognized in perpetuity on the AWHE website.

We are pleased to re-open this opportunity to Arizona Higher Ed Institutions at our 2025 Conference.

Cost for Membership is based on the size of the student body at the institution:

Institution Size (Student Body)Chapter Membership Cost
< 5,000$500
5,001-10,000$1000
> 10,000$1500
