Become an Institutional Representative

Supporting the Board are our dedicated Institutional Representatives, who play a vital role in planning and executing our Annual Conference, coordinating our mentoring program and leadership institute, building partnerships and providing outreach to our members.

An Institutional Representative (IR) is a two-year appointed liaison who serves as their institution’s official representative to the Arizona Women in Higher Education network, helping connect and strengthen the statewide community.

Board service offers an exciting opportunity to engage with colleagues across the state, develop new skills, and advance the AWHE mission of supporting women in higher education through professional development, advocacy, and networking.

  • Board roles are one-year commitments with the option to renew. 
  • Responsibilities include participating in monthly meetings and assisting with various events.
  • Leadership opportunities are also available, including roles such as President, Secretary, Treasurer, and others.

The goal of the mentorship program is to provide opportunities for emerging women leaders in higher education to connect with and learn from senior women leaders across Arizona from a variety of higher education settings. Through networking opportunities, career and leadership development, mentors will assist mentees in navigating their leadership journey through goal setting and guidance.

AWHE IMPACT Leadership Institute

AWHE’s IMPACT Leadership Institute is a six-month leadership program designed to equip early and mid-career women in higher education with the confidence, resilience, and skills needed to thrive as leaders. Through virtual workshops, coaching, and interactive discussions, participants will gain insights into leadership in academia and develop strategies for career advancement. 

Program Fee: Program fee: $499 (includes registration for the AWHE Annual Conference. Travel and lodging are not included; participants are kindly expected to cover these costs and plan to attend the conference.)
