In 2022, AWHE expanded our involvement opportunities by adding membership options for women across the state. We continued this expansion by providing opportunities for institutions to be involved as chapters in 2022-2023. That year, institutions could apply to join as an official AWHE chapter. For the inaugural year, we offered this opportunity to five institutions. In 2022-2023, we accepted two inaugural chapters, who will be recognized in perpetuity on the AWHE website.

Chapter Membership
We are pleased to re-open this opportunity to Arizona Higher Ed Institutions as of our 2025 Conference. Chapter Membership is an opportunity for Institutions to have broader membership opportunities for their faculty and staff. Becoming an AWHE Chapter signifies an institution’s support of the advancement of women in their institution and AWHE’s mission and goals in general.
Current Chapters
Chapter Membership includes the following:
- Unlimited number of members from the institution
- Access to AWHE Newsletter
- Access to Virtual Lunch ‘n Learn/s
- Participation in Transformation Leadership Institute: Communities of Practice
- Priority consideration for workshop proposals for the conference
- Priority consideration for AWHE Mentorship Program, AWHE Impact Leadership Institute
- Voting member privileges
- 20% discount for conference registration for all chapter members
- Access to AWHE Logo for internal use
- Recognition of Chapters and space for Chapters to connect at the Annual Conference
- Acknowledgment of institution on AWHE website
AWHE Chapters are expected to do the following:
- Support the engagement, dedication, and advancement of women in higher education.
- Support up to two Institutional Representatives in AWHE
- Promote AWHE opportunities to members of their chapter – including workshops, awards, mentorship program, leadership institute, and annual conference
- Hold a minimum of one AWHE chapter meeting per semester at the chapter institution
- Encourage chapter members to attend the annual conference
- Collaborate with and supports other state chapters
- Meet together once or twice a year to share best practices or collaborate on efforts
Cost for Membership
Cost for Membership is based on the size of the student body at the institution:
